GO PURPLE BANANAS!!!

Veronica's soccer team, the purple bananas won their AYSO 2007 championship game tonight for the girls 10-12 league. It was a close game, going into double overtime, but they won by one point!

Afterwards, they conquered "the zion" at Grandees Ice Cream Parlor, earning themselves the privilege of having their name engraved on a plaque in the restaurant. For those of you who are not familiar with "the zion", it is a huge platter with 24 different scoops of ice cream complete with all the toppings.

Go Bananas!

MORE AND MORE PAPER

Brenna and Braelynn love to draw. If anyone is writing anything they think they have to, also. They know that if they want to draw they need to either sit down or sit on the bench so they get their paper and go climb up on the bench and wait for me to bring them a pencil or crayon. Its a good thing Grandma and Grandpa Smith supply us with scratch paper!

GIDDY UP

Our neighbor was packing up to move this week so he was going to get rid of this toy horse and thought Brenna and Braelynn might like it-boy did they! When they first saw it they started whinnying and neighing and petting it. They will sit on there for the longest time just rocking and bouncing. Now I just need to figure out where to put it-hmmm!

Blogging World

I have decided to join the ranks and start a blog!
I am an awful journal keeper (the one I received as a wedding present almost 11 years ago isn't even half full) even though I know the importance of it.
There are so many fun and precious events in our lives every day that I don't want to forget so I take a lot of pictures hoping that it will help me to remember the little details one day, but I know that it is not enough.
So this is another desperate attempt to (hopefully) journal the fun, cute and everyday events in my live that I want to remember for years to come.

HUGS AND KISSES

On Friday (September 21) Joe and I were in the kitchen talking when I looked down and Brenna and Braelynn were hugging each other for the first time! It was the cutest thing, we were not quick enough with the camera but managed to later get a video of them giving each other a kiss.
They are quite the little pals, if one is doing it the other is right behind her. They are certainly getting their own language down. It is fun to listen to them chatter to each other like no one else is in the room.

NO MORE SUMMER!

Oh, the first day of school, so many mixed emotions, from all involved parties!

There is mostly excitment, but a little sadness from mom. It was a wonderful summer with a lot of picnics and trips to the park, Koolaid and Snowie stands, and fun crafts to do all summer, not to mention a family camping/fishing trip, an amazing trip to California and and few overnighters with Grandma and Grandpa Smith.

It will be a great school year with so many new friends to make and lots of things to learn.

A little more free time for mom, too!
