Usually, when I put the kids to bed, the older ones like to read in their beds for a while before going to sleep. Last night Braelnn was looking at a book as it was time for bed so she crawled into bed while I was busy doing something else and I found her laying in bed, just like she is in the picture. I left the room for a few minutes and found Brenna in there, also, cuddled up next to Braelynn "reading" the book together.
It sounds cheesy, but they really are the best of friends. They play together so well and don't fight like I thought they would at this age. I love it when they are in their room playing together. I sometimes will just listen to them talk and play with each other and enjoy seeing how their imaginations work.

I'm a coupon clipper!
This sounds silly, but I get such a rush from doing this. By combining my coupons with the sales at Alberstons this week, I bought 66 items (Quaker oatmeal, instant oatmeal, Simple Harvest instant oatmeal, granola bars, Life Cereal, Cap'n Crunch, Rice Crispies, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Campbell's soups, etc.) for $48! I saved $197 and had $36 worth of coupons. It worked out to be 72 cents per item!
My family loves hot cereal, especially Brenna and Braelynn who ask for "noatmeal" almost every morning so I was running low from the oatmeal that I stocked up on last time and I was dreading having to pay full price which is over $2.50 a container for the generic!

Moving Day for Brenna and Braelynn
Let's face it, Tyler was too old a long time ago to be sharing a room with girls, especially since those girls are two years old now and he is nine. I have been trying to figure out a way to 1. get more storage space in our house and 2. get the girls out of Tyler's room.
I decided that Veronica and Samantha could share the top bunk of the full on full bunk beds and Braelynn and Brenna could share the bottom. But I still had the problem of not enough space for everyone's stuff, adding another dresser to the mix and still make it look nice.
I found this really cool loft bed on Craigslist, it was well used but way cool. So with the help of a very supportive husband, we repainted it and an old dresser black and it looks so neat! It has so much storage space, and on the end of the bed it even has this locker that is long enough for all of his bats, balls, lightsabers, etc.!

I also got an idea from a friend to add shelves in our closets since there is a lot of wasted space there because they were so tall. We worked all day Wednesday and Thursday and part of Friday painting, installing shelves, rearranging and organizing and I love the end result. The rooms look so much better.

Tyler was really sad the last two nights to not have the twins with him but I am sure it won't be long until he is loving it. Samantha doesn't mind sharing a bed with Veronica too much but it is a little harder for Veronica since she is at the age that a little privacy and space are nice but she is being really good about it, which I am very proud of her for that.

Special Delivery
Veronica is so excited tonight. She got a package in the mail today. An envelope marked first class, return address...The White House. A while back an intern for President Bush came to visit her class and offered to deliver letters to the President if they wanted to write him a letter. Of course Veronica did. She worked so hard and made sure every sentence was perfect before she finally printed it off.
She is so thrilled to get a letter and a picture from President Bush.

Awww, Young Love
Last night, for New Years Eve, we went to a friends house for the usual games and food. Well, we rang in the New Year then preceded to help clean up and get ready to leave. Just as we were saying goodbye we noticed our friends' oldest son, three-year-old Weston, grab hold of Braelynn and plant her a kiss right on the lips!
The adults of course were shocked and the guys start in on the typical keep your kid away from my kid joking around and while they were doing that Weston walked right over to Brenna and did the same thing. She tried to turn her head so he could only kiss her on the cheek but he held onto her and got her right on the lips.
Nothing like young love!
