Done!

I told you about the bathroom remodel in November. Since then we painted and tiled the other bathroom floor and replaced the light fixture in there, and the same in the laundry room. We replaced the stove (it was old and leaking gas, not worth fixing again) and repainted the kitchen. We painted the hallway and replaced the light fixtures there and yesterday we finished the last on our list!!!
We painted the dining room and living room, replaced the ceiling fan in the living room (the old one made very annoying grinding and clanking noises), and replaced the light fixtures in the entryway and dining room. It was a great feeling last night to finish it up and get the house all cleaned and put back together.
It looks really good, much more up-to date, and I love the smell of fresh paint! I am not including pictures, because, quite honestly it just not do it justice. You will just have to come visit to see it!

Raining Hearts Day

Did it rain hearts where you live today?
Braelynn has been so excited abouts Valentines Day this week. Even after the preschool valentines party on Thursday. Even after delivering her valentines on Friday to a few of her friends. She could not wait for Valentines Day to come. Whatever.
This morning when she woke up and saw the paper heart valentine I left for her, she was very excited and told me she had to go out and see. I told her there was nothing out in the living room (thinking she was expecting Christmas or something). She proceeded to tell me that she had to look out the window to see all the "hearts and stuff". I told her again that there was nothing out there. She insisted. There were no hearts out there. We are both confused at this point. Me wondering what what in the heck she is talking about. Her confused, sad and a little frustrated.
Luckily Samantha quickly figured out what was going on. We had been reading the book "The Day it Rained Hearts" by Felicia Bond.
I am bracing myself for a meltdown, because you know what it can be like when a little one gets something in her head! I explain to her that the stuff in the book was pretend and that it really doesn't rain hearts on Valentines Day.
Her reaction? Laughter and "that is so silly". End of discussion, and on about her business.
Mine? Big sigh of relief.
