You know those weekends that are just perfect? The ones that leave you feeling happy, rejuvenated, and just plain good? I had two of those in a row.
The first one was our annual girls weekend. This time it was held in Twin Falls, Idaho. I have always had a fascination for Twin Falls. For years I have wanted to move there so it was nice to spend some time there and not just stop for an hour or two on the way to Boise. 7 of us--mom, sisters, and sisters-in-law. I love that we can all be together and laugh, cry, talk about nothing, talk about important things, laugh at a funny movie, plan, shop, and eat. I seriously love each of those ladies. It really was a perfect weekend.
The next one was the park-to-park pedal in Lincoln County Nevada. I rode the 40 mile option along with my sister, Brenda and my Mom. My dad, my sister Vera, and cousin Loren rode the 100 mile ride. The unique thing about this ride is that the 100 mile option goes through 4 state parks which are all different but beautiful.
In true small town fashion, the support group was awesome. It was fun to ride along, chatting with people that I didn't know while enjoying beautiful weather, combined with pride in my hometown for putting on such an amazing ride.
Joe was a trooper and drove all over cheering on the 1oo milers along with the kids. The kids enthusiastically cheered on every bicyclist that rode by them. I heard so many people comment on the little cheering section that was made up by my kids and cute nieces and nephews.
My favorite part of the whole weekend was probably watching the kids run up the hill to the finish line with their grandpa and beloved Aunt Vera. Just precious!

Re-wind
I was going through pictures today and realized I never posted any pictures of our trip to Lake Powell or Sand Hollow this summer.
We camped in a tent at Sand Hollow and stayed at a houseboat in Lake Powell. They were both fun trips with different friends with lots of swimming, sand and sun.
Lake Powell
The kids all spent HOURS jumping off the houseboat, swimming, and playing on the tubes. It was so fun to watch them swim for hours, come in and get a snack then get their life jacket back on and swim some more. Tyler tried skiing for the first time and actually got up. Everyone (except Joe, too soon after knee surgery, and Brenna and Braelynn) got up on the knee board and some practiced new tricks on it. Everyone got time on the tube, we played games and visited.
Sand Hollow was hot, like 110 degrees hot, so we spent lots of time on the boat, jet skis, or the beach. we spent hours playing in the water and sand.
Veronica was at girls camp while we were at Sand Hollow and I stayed behind every time she tried the knee board so I guess no pics of her this time. Sorry, hon!
