Heat=Water

This happened two Saturdays ago, May 9 but the pictures were cute so I thought I would post. I had heard about a new free water park in St. George and wanted something fun to do with the kids. Joe had a golf tournamet in Mesquite, just past St. George so I decided to head down there so he could meet us there when he got done. It was well worth the 45-minute drive!

Birthday Time

This is late but...
Brenna and Braelynn turned three last Thursday (14th). Braelynn had been telling everyone that even said hello to her the the week before her birthday "My birthday is May 14.". Most of them couldn't understand what she said so I had to translate.
We celebrated with a little party with a few of their friends. They decorated their own cupcakes, played in the sandbox, bubbles and chalk.
That evening we had Great-Grandma Connors over for birthday dinner BBQ, then cake and ice cream with Grandma and Grandpa Haley.
Happy Birthday girls!

Opening presents before breakfast. Nice bed hair!

Yellow cake for Brenna

Spiritual Upliftment

Nice to read this today...

"I testify of angels, both the heavenly and the mortal kind. In doing so I am testifying that God never leaves us alone, never leaves us unaided in the challenges that we face. '[N]or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth shall stand, or there shall be one man [or woman or child] upon the face thereof to be saved' (Moroni 7:36). On occasions, global or personal, we may feel we are distanced from God, shut out from heaven, lost, alone in dark and dreary places. Often enough that distress can be of our own making, but even then the Father of us all is watching and assisting. And always there are those angels who come and go all around us, seen and unseen, known and unknown, mortal and immortal."May we all believe more readily in, and have more gratitude for, the Lord's promise as contained in one of President Monson's favorite scriptures: 'I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, . . . my Spirit shall be in your [heart], and mine angels round about you, to bear you up' (D&C 84:88). In the process of praying for those angels to attend us, may we all try to be a little more angelic ourselves—with a kind word, a strong arm, a declaration of faith and 'the covenant wherewith [we] have covenanted' (D&C 90:24). Perhaps then we can be emissaries sent from God."
Jeffrey R. Holland, "The Ministry of Angels," Ensign, Nov. 2008, 31

Happy Un-birthday

Last night through the course of a conversation that I was having with the kids, it came out that Brenna and Braelynn's birthday would be after Mother's Day. Brenna and Braelynn caught that part of the conversation and ran with it! That is about all we heard from them the rest of the evening, about their birthday and party and how Braelynn wants a pink cake and Brenna wants a yellow cake and it will have candles on it. I was grateful it was almost bedtime, thinking that in the morning they would forget about it. I was wrong, very very wrong! That was the first thing out of their mouths this morning. Now A.J., Caleb, Matti, Damon and Weston are coming to their party (I don't even know if I am going to give them a party, besides a family one) with pink and yellow cake and candles.
All this party stuff got me to thinking about my pregnancy, etc. so I decided to type it up because I haven't yet written it all down. I got it all written and then decided that it was a little too private and personal for the whole world to see...but blogging got me to document it, which was the whole purpose.
Instead, I will stretch myself and post a picture of me four days before I had them. Keep in mind that this is a huge step for me posting this picute for the world to see!

A perfect Sunday and Flowers

Yesterday was my idea of a perfect Sunday:
Beautiful weather
Joe off work
9:00 church
No extra meetings, etc.
Beautiful weather
A walk to see Grandma Connors that extended into a two hour long outing with a walk on the new trail by our house and a stop in the park.
Easy quick dinner
Visit to Grandma and Grandpa Haley's house
Kids to bed
Settle in to watch a movie with my hubby.

Today, as Brenna and Braelynn and I were headed out to exercise, Joe was in the yard pulling up "flowers", you know, those yellow ones that will get out of control if not taken care of. Brenna and Braelynn noticed what Joe was doing and commented (not very nicely) on the fact that dad was pulling up their flowers. As we pulled into the driveway Brenna realized that all of her flowers were gone. She was very disgusted and upset and told me all about it like only a two-year old can! I brought her in the house and then she told Joe all about how she felt. She has mentioned it twice since then. Good thing she doesn't know he put down weed and feed so hopefully no more will come up!

Once upon a time there were a group of women. Some were named Smith at one time some are now named Smith. All were very awesome women...if I do say so myself! One of these women (Brenda) had a good idea to start a recipe share of some sort. These women talked about it but not one of them did anything to start it going.
Until finally one day one of these women (Matti) started up a blog very appropriately named Smithalicious! Everyone was a contributer Mom, Vera, Marie, Melissa, Brenda, Matti and Jeanette. This blog was enjoyed by all and we wanted to share it with everyone. We told our friends, relatives and aquaintances about it.
Then one day, the very talented Matti decided to take it one step further and make us famous (kind of) by introducing us in places like The Hive, Phe Mom Enom, and the Foodie Blog Roll.
Now these women need your help. Please check out Smithalicious and if you feel at all inclined please become a follower and help us become world renowned. Just think...since you know us, that make you sort of famous too, right?!

Happy Easter!

I thought I would share our Easter happenings. On Wednesday our neighbor Amber invited Brenna and Braelynn over for a little Easter egg hunt and activities. They had a great time and knew exactly what to do for the egg hunt which surprised me because I didn't think they would remember from last year. Thanks Amber for inviting us!

Our plan was to head over to Caliente on Friday to get out of town but Braelynn came down with a short stomach flu or something Friday morning but was better on Saturday so we went over for a day trip for the rainy town Easter egg hunt, coloring eggs, and playing with cousins, Grandma and Grandpa and Neal.

And, of course, a nice Easter Sunday finished off by going to see Uncle Dave perform with the Master Singers this evening.
